This interesting event hosted by the Concrete Institute of Australia's Victorian Branch will feature discussion of the new Australian specification for post installed anchoring TS101, local experience on compliance testing in Australian concrete and the installer certification program developed by AEFAC. The long awaited specification will provide technical guidance and create a benchmark for compliance for manufacturers, designers and contractors.

'SA TS101 Deemed-to-satisfy provisions for the design of fastenings to concrete in Australia'
Presenter Andrew Coumaros has 17 years experience with ramsetreid™ and is is a founding member of AEFAC. Andrew has held a number of assignments from product development of fixings and concrete lifting systems to engineering for concrete construction. He is currently the Engineering Services Manager ANZ with involvement in developing post-installed and cast-in anchoring solutions for various projects across Australia and New Zealand. Andrew was responsible for developing and launching ramsetreid’s latest iExpert Anchoring Software and is also a board member of AEFAC. Most recently, Andrew has been actively involved in educating the construction industry on the new Technical Specification TS101:2015 across Australia.
'Compliance Testing of post-installed and cast-in connections in Australian Substrates'
Presenter Neil Hollingshead who has over 25 years of experience providing high value solutions to the construction industry through a number of Technical / Engineering and Marketing roles with ITW ramsetreid™. He graduated from Swinburne University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1996 and currently chairs the AEFAC Technical Committee.
'AEFAC Installer Certification Program'
Performance of post-installed anchors in concrete and masonry is highly dependent on the way the anchors are installed. Failure of anchors often occurs due to incorrect installations. In recent years, there have been increasing awareness regarding poor installation practices leading to unreliable bonded anchors performance. As part of the industry’s effort to enhance the standard of installation of post-installed anchors in Australia in line with international practice, the AEFAC Installer Certification Program is initiated to train and equip installers with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform installation at the highest level. The AEFAC Installer Certification Program is part of a safety framework for product prequalification, design and installation of fastenings to concrete for safety-critical applications in Australia.
Presenter Dr Jessey Lee – Training & Development Manager AEFAC completed her PhD from the University of Melbourne specialising in blind bolted connections. She is currently the Training and Development Manager at AEFAC, Swinburne University of Technology. Her primary scope of work is on the AEFAC Installer Certification Program. She was previously practising as a Senior Structural Engineer at Unitised Building Consulting and Robertbird Group specialising in the design of fully fitted modular structures.
