Overview

Our August evening technical session will focus on the use of technology in construction. The use of drone technology, new anchoring techniques and other innovative solutions can reduce construction risk, reduce schedule delays and lead to an overall decrease in construction costs.

Richard Tester is The Founder and Managing Director of the Red Arrow Group which commenced in 2012 and is the Parent Company to Red Arrow 4D Planning, Global Technology and Recruitment. Red Arrow Group is well established in the supply of Project Management and Planning. The Group has now expanded its services into Technology Development with 3d Laser Scanning and Recruitment. They employ over 40 personnel and Subcontractors who have a proven track record within their field, this includes over 15 Indigenous Personnel.  Red Arrow Group are the licensed Partner for Synchro Software in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle east and have offices in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Germany.
 
In his presentation on Technology in Construction, Richard will be talking about how Safety, Budget and Schedule impacts can be improved with the utilization with Technology in Construction with Communication, Innovation and Automation.

Compliance and Risk Reduction
 
Alistair graduated in 1997 from University of Paisley in the UK and spent the majority of his career working on the contracting side across both the civil engineering and building sectors. Relocating to Australia in 2011 with Multiplex offered exposure to the mining infrastructure and major projects as an SPE and Design Manager. In 2015 Alistair returned to Hilti and as a Hilti engineer with over 5 years’ experience over two countries experienced the launch of ETA in Europe and also the launch of SA TS 101 in Australia both of which are very closely linked. His contracting experience combined with the specialist technical knowledge of post install anchor systems and passive firestop gained from one of the most advanced and forward thinking manufacturers in the world allows the offer assistance and advice in these specialist areas.
 
In tonight’s presentation Alistair will aim to provide some information and detail on the following areas from which the overriding link is around compliance and risk reduction:
  • An update and confirmation on SA TS 101 status to Australian Standard and its relevance
  • Chemical anchoring - the issues with drilling, cleaning and dust and an approved solution. Additionally, chemical anchor capsule with cracked concrete using our new approved HVU2.
