Topics

The course covers challenges confronted by designers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and site supervisors when designing, supplying and utilising concrete. While the course is primarily aimed at graduates and engineers with less than 4 years industry experience, more experienced engineers may also benefit from a refresher on the basics of this critical construction material.

The guest lecturers, who present the course, are some of the most experienced  and qualified people in the concrete industry in Western Australia. They have a huge collective practical concrete experience between them. The course provides the basic information on concrete technology needed by engineers to design, specify and ensure quality concrete.

The course will be split into three session with ample time allowed for questions and networking at the end of each session.

Session One - 6th September 2018:
Aggregates , cementitious materials and admixtures.

Session Two - 13th September 2018:
Concrete mix design, manufacture and supply and quality control and testing.

Session Three - 20th September2018:
Concrete pumping and placement, concrete finishing and curing, and concrete problems.
