“Movers” & “Makers” Cocktail Party

Friday 7th September 2012 – Botanic Gardens Restaurant

Now into its third year the NSW Branch “Movers” & “Makers” evening is to be held on Friday September 7th at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant in Sydney.

Maccaferri Australia has once again joined us as Platinum Sponsor of the evening and this year will be joined by Sika Australia as Gold Sponsor.  With a variety of entertainment planned including magic and music there will be plenty to keep our guests entertained.

This year the “Movers” & “Makers” evening will be a cocktail style party and will provide guests with a fantastic opportunity to network with some of the best and brightest in the concrete industry while enjoying the sumptuous food and drink of the Botanic Gardens Restaurant in the beautiful surroundings of the gardens themselves.

For more information please go to the NSW page of the CIA website or contact Duncan Miller at the NSW Branch Office on 02 9955 1744 or nsw@concreteinstitute.com.au.

We hope to see you at the event of the year for all those who “move” things along and “make” things happen in the concrete industry.

Concrete Repair and Protection Seminar - Newcastle - June 21st 2012
Concrete Repair and Protection Seminar - Newcastle - June 21st 2012 - 30 Apr 2012
Asset owners and managers are required to maintain reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and buildings for longer periods and with tighter and tighter budgets. Many structures and buildings are required for many years and even decades beyond their design lives because of longer operating requirements, increased life of mine and the like.

Concrete repair and protection is becoming more prevalent and there have been many advances in available materials, technologies and approaches in recent times. Consultants, material suppliers, contractors and asset owners all have stories to tell in this regard. Practical examples and case studies are warranted.

The Australasian Corrosion Association’s Concrete Structures and Buildings Technical Group is hosting a seminar to enhance corrosion awareness and to encourage dialogue on the most recent technologies and approaches available for the repair and protection of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and buildings.

The seminar will be of value to structure and building owners and managers, engineers, architects, contractors, suppliers and researchers involved in optimising operations to ensure structural safety and availability is not compromised by corrosion and deterioration.
