Overview

This Concrete Institute of Australia event brings together a group of great industry speakers to discuss advances in concrete technology and practices as part of our WHATS NEW IN CONCRETE regional seminar series. With the push on concrete to embrace sustainability, technology, greener alternative and IoT there are a number of emerging technologies and practices which are standing up and making a real difference to how we get things done. The more exciting aspect of these advances is being found in the way in which they are also facilitating smart, faster and more cost effective concrete and construction practices at the same time.

This event provides an insight in a number of advances in concrete practices including the use of concrete Maturity Testing for providing real-time early age concrete strength results without the need for concrete cylinder break test. This is providing more accurate testing results and optimisation of construction scheduling. Additional presentations include the use of recycled material as concrete fibres in sustainable infrastructure and the incredible turnaround times being facilitated by fast set cements is specialist concretes for pavement repairs ensuring expediated return to service on critical infrastructure such as roads and runways.

The event will include an open panel Q&A session on what’s new in concrete and concrete innovation and at its conclusions.
