Zoom Webinar , Online, VIC CIA

Melbourne is experiencing a once-in-a-generation infrastructure boom. Construction is underway on the $11 Billion MetroTunnel which will untangle Melbourne’s city loop so that more trains can run more often across the city. Works to build the massive 9km twin rail tunnels and five new underground stations are also underway. This job employs four tunnel boring machines and utilizes a staggering 56,000 precast concrete segments to line these tunnels.

This massive, complex design and engineering project is the focus of this webinar.
The webinar will cover the following aspects of precast concrete production and construction on the MetroTunnel project –

  • Site establishment -environmental and sustainability issues
  • Production Process – concrete, QA/QC
  • Technical information – REO vs steel fibre segments
  • Objectives - strength, workability, sustainability
  • Concrete durability - challenges due to sulphate and chloride attack
  • Concrete fire performance– specifications and testing
  • Innovation - concrete constituents, use of fibres, advanced curing methods.

It will be of great interest to all those involved in design and construction of major infrastructure.
