South Australia's government is engaging tunnelling experts and establishing a specialised infrastructure unit to further investigate options for the final 10.5km stretch of the North-South Corridor in Adelaide.

The design for the new Powerhouse Museum in Western Sydney has been selected (pictured) following an international design competition that attracted 74 entries across 20 countries. And it looks like there might be a bit of concrete involved in what will be a unique building for Australia.

The final stage of town planning for the new Maitland Hospital has been approved and the main works construction contract has been awarded to Multiplex. Downer has been awarded the five-year $520 million contract to plan, design and deliver water and wastewater infrastructure for Logan City Council. And under a $2 billion contract with Jacobs and Broadspectrum, it will design, construct and maintain Sydney Water North infrastructure over a 10-year period.
