The Queensland Government has announced the contract for the $24 million Ewen Maddock Dam upgrade has been awarded to Hall Contracting in Buderim to bring the dam in line with modern engineering design standards.

Townsville's new 25,000-seat $290 million Queensland Country Bank Stadium has been delivered by Watpac, with the company referring to it as a "momentous achievement". The project (pictured during construction) involved more than 1.1 million work hours.

In Victoria, works to widen the West Gate Freeway as part of the West Gate Tunnel Project have started. The freeway will be closed inbound for 21 nights to enable construction teams to install bridge beams while the Geelong entry ramp has just reopened after six weeks as crews installed the new bridge deck.
