The design of a new three-lane Centenary Bridge crossing the Brisbane River is now up for tender from the Queensland Government. And in the Northern Territory, design tenders have been released by the government for the $15 million revitalisation of Alice Springs CBD, with construction tenders to be released later this year.

34 regional airport infrastructure projects are set to share in the $10.1 million pot of funding under Round 6 of the Federal Government’s Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program. Projects include a major upgrade to the Flinders Island runway in Tasmania ($1.8M) and resealing the Cunnamulla runway in Queensland ($277,243). Following this announcement, the federal government committed up to $100 million to upgrade regional airports right across Australia, with funding and application information to be released shortly.

Property developers in Victoria will no longer be able to invoke sunset clauses to delay construction due to changes under the Sale of Land Amendment Bill 2019 in a bid to prevent them from terminating signed sale contracts and reselling the property at a higher price.

The results of the NSW election have assured the go-ahead for three major Sydney projects: the Western Harbour Tunnel, the Beaches Link, and the F6 Extension linking the new M5 Motorway. There are also promises for other projects involving the Blue Mountains, regional highways south of Sydney, and suburban Sydney roads and bridges.

The Victorian Government has released the Request for Proposal (RFP) to deliver the $2.2 billion for the Northern Roads Upgrade and South-Eastern Roads Upgrade, with short-listed parties expected to respond to the RFP for each upgrade in mid-2019.
