Geopolymer is an alkali-activated binder which utilises industrial waste like fly-ash and slag as source material and therefore has minimum impact on the environment. Previous studies carried out to explore the mechanical properties of geopolymer concrete has shown significant gain in early age strength and high flexural strength in comparison to OPC concrete. Such properties of geopolymer concrete make it suitable for production of precast concrete components such as pipes and box culverts. However, only limited studies have looked into the application of geopolymer concrete in precast components.
