This presentation considers the importance of ASTM/ACI compliant under slab vapour barriers to future proof buildings, provide energy efficiencies, protect sensitive floors, and make healthier buildings in the absence of an Australian Standard currently.  It looks at the properties of a compliant vapour barrier and what impact this will have on the building through its lifetime.

Tian holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales with specific area in concrete technology and steel fibre reinforced concrete. Tian is a member of the Australian Standard Committee reviewing the latest Australian Concrete Code AS 3600 for the properties of concrete and durability design.

Kates current role at ramsetreid is that of Engineering Development Manager ANZ - Flooring and Pavement at ramsetreid, her presentation focuses on Best Practice In Joint Management for Heavy Duty Concrete Pavements. She discusses concrete shrinkage and the resultant stresses and load transfer. The presentation also looks into the importance of  construction joints, expansion joints and contraction joints amongst other topics in the presentation
