fib in Australia - Australian National Member Group (ANMG)
The International Federation for Structural Concrete (fédération internationale du béton - fib) is formed by 43 National Member Groups around the world and around 1000 individual and corporate members. It is committed to advancing the technical, economic, aesthetic and environmental performance of concrete structures worldwide.
The Concrete Institute of Australia was a national member of fib until 2009 before becoming the Secretariat of the Australian National Member Group (ANMG) with a number of other organisations involved as Members (Founding Members).
In recent times the CIA has taken on the full responsibility of the ANMG and as such the Institute represents fib in Australia. This now allows the Institute to bring much of the work being done by fib to the Members of the Institute and provide worldwide codes of practices to be considered and compared for local needs.
